Las Vegas National Golf Club

Las Vegas National Golf Club

Las Vegas National Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Las Vegas. This golf course is located just two miles from the Las Vegas Strip on Desert Inn Road. Don't expect to find a desert experience here, but instead, what you will find is an old style Las Vegas golf course that uses some of the most famous Las Vegas hotels and casinos as a backdrop.

Mature trees and sharp doglegs are the order of business at the Las Vegas National golf course. Former host to the PGA Tour during the 60's and 70's and was a favorite among players during that golden era. As you walk around the clubhouse you will find photos of past champions of the PGA Tour event. Also be sure to check out the home that was featured in the 1995 movie "Casino" with Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone. This home is located on the left side of the 1 st hole and left side of the 18th hole.

Las Vegas National golf course only measures 6,800 yards from the back tee, but the par-3's on this golf course make up for the short distance.

A Blast From The Past at Las Vegas National

Las Vegas National Golf Club opened in 1961, is one of the oldest golf courses in Las Vegas. Las Vegas was a much different place during this period of time, and golf courses were built to suit the equipment and games of the day. Las Vegas National is not a very long golf course, only 6,500 yards from the back tee, but mostly this is due to the five par-3's on the golf course.

Las Vegas National is a treasure that sits about 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip on Desert Inn Road. [ read more ]

The word "tough" can be used to define anything from climbing Mount Everest to seeing how long you can hold your breath. On the golf course some of the most beautiful scenes can become your worst enemy. The golf courses in Las Vegas use a variety of hazards to keep the player off guard and cause poor swings. Coming to Las Vegas soon?

Here's the scoop on some of what's going on in July at some of the golf courses here in Las Vegas. Las Vegas National Golf Club is going to be punching their greens starting on Monday, July 9th. I recommend that you stay away from there for at least three weeks so the greens can recover. The Arroyo Course at Red Rock Country Club will be aerating their greens on June 25th. [ read more ]

Las Vegas National A Rich Tradition of Challenging Golf

As soon as you step on the first tee, you know you are in for a challenge. Even if you have never heard the tales of all the famous golfers who have teed it up at Las Vegas National, the set up of the first hole is menacing enough. With out-of-bounds on both sides as well as fairway and greenside bunkers and a lake bordering the green, this long dogleg right opening Par 5 will intimidate even single digit handicaps.
