The desert weather has been awesome lately, and I've had the chance to get out and play some of the great golf courses here in Las Vegas. With so many great options for golf, sometimes it's hard to choose - but, to help you out a little, here is a snapshot of how a few golf courses are playing as we come into the best golfing weather of the year.
Silverstone Golf Club
This is always a fun golf course to play. The greens were very fast and smooth. The fairways came in nicely from overseeding. This was my first opportunity to use the new GPS System and I found it to be very accurate and helpful. The weather was great and I managed to shoot a respectable 70 on this day.
Reflection Bay Golf Club
I am always excited to play this wonderful Jack Nicklaus Design that is home to the annual Wendy's Three-Tour Challenge. On this day the winds were blowing around 25-30 mph and just made the golf course that much tougher. The fairways where great and the greens were some of the fastest I have played all year.
Tuscany Golf Club
Designed by Ted Robinson, this is a great golf course for the high handicap golfer. The fairways and rough are very fast - sometimes you will be able to get over 100 yards of roll. On the 7th hole I managed to hit a drive over 400 yards with the help of a slope and some good, firm ground. The greens were in great shape rolling at about 9 on the stempmeter. Tee to green, this golf course is in great shape.
