Anthem Country Club is Great Golf in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, the home of several great golf courses, has come up with another gem at The Anthem Country Club. This private golf club was designed by Hale Irwin. This golf course features a little bit of everything from water to sand, and even the well-placed desert area. This is a members golf course and was designed to be challenging enough to keep players coming back day after day.

When it comes to scenic beauty not many golf course in this area can compare to The Anthem Country Club. There are several elevation changes that give players great views of Las Vegas and a little help with extra yardage off the tee. The greens on this golf course are large and tricky to putt, they are kept fast and a good putting touch will be the secret to scoring well on this golf course.

The 6th hole is a long par-3 that really typifies the beauty that can be found around this golf course. The hole measures 200 yards from the back tee and players must hit to a green that is surrounded by water. The tee boxes are located behind the water hazard and players must carry their ball all the way to the green. The golf course has taken considerable effort to make this visually appealing to the golfer with elaborate landscaping and waterfalls. This is a great comfort to the players when their ball finds the water.

The best place to aim on this hole is toward the middle of the green, the slope of the ground will feed the ball to the left. There are bunkers on the right-hand side and if you find one of these you will be left with a shot playing back toward the water.

The Anthem Country Club is one of the best maintained golf courses in Las Vegas. The members of this club demand top notch golf course conditions and the grounds crew certainly comes through. The fairways are firm which gives the players added roll off the tee, and the greens are some of the fastest anywhere, ranging from 10-11 on the stempmeter.

This golf course gives players some great risk/reward holes like the 10th hole. This is a short par-4 that some of the longer hitters will be able to come very close to reaching. The hole plays slightly downhill but there is a lot of danger out there to hamper a good swing. There are bunkers in front of the green and a pond to the left of the green. Just a slight pull of the driver will find the water.

The best play off the tee is over the bunker on the right side of the fairway. Players should be able to fly this bunker and leave themselves with a short iron into this difficult green. Be careful of a pin place in the front of the green. Aim for the middle of the green and make a par. This green has a lot of undulations that can be subtle. The closer to the hole you can get, the better off you are going to be.

Anthem Country Club  allows Las Vegas Golf Adventures to book a limited number of outside guests to enjoy the golf course. Hale Irwin is one of those designers who doesn't like to overwhelm the golfer. He will allow the player to make choices that can make or break a score. This is a fun golf course to play that combines desert landscape and water in a very natural setting.
